The McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida is a research and teaching center, which conducts integrated Research in neuroscience, neurology, psychiatry, cognitive science, and related areas.

The Institute was founded in 1998 by Dr. William Luttge, and was also a project of the U.S. Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs. In 2004 Dr. Dennis A. Steindler was chosen to be the director of the Institute. Overall, the facilities were constructed from donations by Evelyn and William McKnight.[1]
